Song of the Day: The Littlest Christmas Tree
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs. It's not really a song, but it's about a Christmas Tree and it was on a album we had growing up. I can't being to imagine how many times this album played in our house. Or how it survived as well as it did.
Red Skelton does the voice of the tree. It's a testament to his performance and the power of childhood memories and experiences that I still love this, despite some of its very blatant religious and political propoganda.
This is actually a good time to tell you that my anti-alter-ego is something of a fan of Christmas music. Actually, to say he's a fan is putting it mildly. Go see.

Wow. We used to have this record when I was growing up, and I'd insist on listening to it. then I'd cry, and cry...and cry.

Wow, cant believe i found this song on the first try! Thank you to whom ever posted it. This was one of my favorite songs that we use to listen to on record when i was a child. I still remembered some of the words and its has been at least 22 years since i played that old record. Lost forever but thanks to this site, i will have it forever! Do u know where I can find a cd with this song? My daughter is supposed to be learning the lyrics but I don't know how the song goes, like the beat of it to teach her

It was the BEST!!! My mother has it and I have asked her for it many times in hopes she would give it to me for Christmas! :( not yet.
