Either he got too old, too fat or too dated. For some reason, Dom DeLuise hasn't been very visible or popular in a number of years. But boy, was he funny.
"The End" was one of the first movies rented for the family VCR back in the day. And his appearances in the Mel Brooks movies were excellent as well.
To me he might be the prototypical "funny fat guy."
